Father Gabriel Johnson is an American of Swedish descent.  He entered the Seminary after recieving a degeree in Psychology and Theology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.  His particular interest was in the stories of the old times.  When the Morning Star Lucifer attempted to take Heaven, and subsequently fell with his 216 angels.  He was entranced by the Revelation of St. John and grew to know much of the Apocalypse.

While Gabriel knew people and understood them, and was empathic, his knowledge and interest made him ill-suited to be a Parish Priest.  He was recruited into the Congregation of the Causes of the Saints, a little known Jesuit order which investigates miracles and other spiritual events around the globe.  Gabriel's specialization was Possessions, Demonic Attacks, and Exorcisms.  To date, a year in the service to the Congregation, every case he'd examined was merely Schizophrenia or another similar psychological disease.  He'd been investigating such a case in San Francisco, and has hopped on Flight 13 on his way back to Rome.
